I'VE MOVED!!!

After a long time of going back and forth on starting a new blog, I've finally done it. I love that I have followers over here and I sure hope you all show up over there as well. I'll be posting the same kinds of things (obviously pictures) but I'll also be doing occasional tips for taking better pictures, choosing a nice camera, or finding a killer location. So, head over there and comment. It's nice to know that people are actually looking at my blog. :)

A Little Fun

Once a month I get together with a few photography friends. We try to go with a purpose in order to learn more and become better photographers. One of these girlies is my photography teacher (BEST CLASSES EVER! Let me know if you want some info on them.) and between her and the other girl, I end up getting the better end of the deal. They are both SO talented and I just hang onto their coat tails.
This time we didn't really have a "purpose" but we stumbled upon THE MOST awesome moody light. We went to TOWN! It was so much fun and I learned so much. What good is a talent (if I dare say I have talent) if you don't try to improve it, you know? I get a little intimidated to do these kinds of things on normal shoots because not everyone likes "moody light" but it's so beautiful and deep. So, enjoy these beautiful ladies and if you would like to see some of their AMAZING work, check out their blogs on my side bar. Wendy Schulz and Janelle Joy (Henningson). (is it bad that I'm kind of referring people to my "competition"? Oh well, they're awesome!)

Sorry, Janelle, couldn't resist this next one. When you have noone to model except for each other, you tend to get a little silly. :)
Wendy was ready in case the weather got chilly. :) (We wanted some white because Janelle is shooting a wedding here in a few months...)

Alizabeth Marie

Some of you may know that the little one made her entrance into this world a little earlier and not with the most... grace. After spending nearly a month in the NICU and giving all of us small heart attacks wondering whether or not she was going to make it, she FINALLY came home to overly proud parents. We are so happy she's finally healthy. She was a dream to photograph. Even though she's a month old (newborns are easiest to photograph under 2 weeks) she was a champ and let us do all kinds of things to her. I loved every minute of it and can't wait to take MORE pictures of her sometime soon. So, enjoy. Oh, and by the way, I could NOT bring myself to turn her pictures to black and white. I mean, honestly, with that hair...? It MUST stay in FULL color!!

Proud brother Joshua.

Carson, the newest member of the fam

Meet Carson. Remember that totally hot sister of mine that I posted pictures of about a month ago? Well, she ended up having her baby about a week later and I got to go take a few more pictures of him. He wanted to stay awake for his first ever photoshoot. (Not counting the ones where he was in Mommy's tummy and the ones at the hospital.) But even with his "alertness" we were able to get some good ones. This little guy is giving Hill a run for her money in the sleeping-at-night department but you can't help but fall in love with him from the moment you see him. Thanks, Hill, for letting me come play!

I ADORE that yawn! Isn't that how we all feel right after we have a baby?

Taggert, the proud big brother.

The Carattini Family

The Carattini's were my last shoot last weekend. (Good thing since I just BARELY beat the incoming monsoon.) This family was so sweet. Their two kids played so well together! Maybe that's because they have a few years in between them. Despite not wanting his picture taken, I managed to squeeze a few cute pictures out of their little man. I had so much fun meeting this sweet family and only hope my kids can someday play as well as theirs did.

I absolutely LOVE the picture above and the picture below. I think they just capture the essence of little boys in all their glory. They are so angelic and sweet.

Sweet Bethany

My amazing old pal, Bethany, was kind enough to set up 4 shoots for me all the way across town last weekend. It was completely worth it to see her and Shenna and meet some great new people. As you can see, Beth just had a little girl named Storey. How amazingly cute is she? And the HAIR!!! It's real, folks! She was such a trooper as we dressed and undressed her, put her in tutus, stuck her on bowls and bookshelves (no babies were harmed, fear not). She even slept right through the fearless attack from Jackson, her big brother. I seriously LOVED spending time with Beth. She's one of those people you love more and more every time you see her. We went to New Zealand together for 4 months. She was one of the coolest girls over there and I am SO glad we became friends.
